Rachel Oates
Rachel was born in Chicago and is a Chicago sports fan through and through. She lives for the Bears but also enjoys following the Cubs and Blackhawks. Rachel moved to New York when she was young and now resides in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. New to caring about basketball in 2018, she unfortunately adopted the Knicks as her team (although the Bulls wouldn’t be much better). Rachel daylights as a Real Estate Investment Banking analyst but her true passions are golf and pop culture and thus OFD was born.
Sam Minter
Sam was born in New York, but has Pittsburgh in his blood, and roots for the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Yankees, and was the one who unfortunately introduced Rachel to the hell of being a Knicks fan. However, he mostly enjoys losing money betting on golf. An incoming first-year law student at Georgetown, Sam looks forward to sharing his analytical views about basketball, golf, football, and once closer to the Iowa caucuses, polling updates and political predictions.
Peter Belval
Peter was born and raised in Boston and rarely misses a game. He regards the Red Sox as the closest he will ever get to organized religion and dreads the day Tom Brady’s supercomputer is finally shut down. To take away from all of the stress continuous championship runs create Peter is constantly quoting movies and is known to make a killer bloody mary.
Molly Minter
Molly is a New Yorker through and through, although she just graduated from a school in the middle of Pennsylvania. She’s an actor and singer, the creative one in the family. She is also Sam’s little sister, but they are complete opposites. Obsessed with TV (currently Euphoria), movies (currently Booksmart), music (currently Maggie Rogers), theatre (currently Hadestown), social media (currently Bon Appetit’s YouTube presence) and celebrities (currently and always Timothee Chalamet), Molly is a pop culture addict & will talk your ear off about it.
Harry Falber
Harry was born and raised in Boston, but Washington D.C. has begun to feel more and more like home. As someone who will refuse to lose an argument no matter how wrong he is, Harry looks forward to sharing his hot takes on everything from sports, gambling, TV shows, movies, music, and more! He is currently looking for someone to accompany him to as many shows as possible on Bruce Springsteen’s unannounced 2020 tour.
Rachel Tillman
Rachel was raised in Missoula, Montana and she’ll blame her absolute 0 sports knowledge on the fact that the state is too small to have a single professional sports team. Instead she spends her time in NYC trying to find and befriend Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, eating her way through the cheapest foods in the LES, and finding the strongest gin and tonic in the city to forget about the politics in the good ol’ US of A. Chris Broadie
Chris was born and raised in New York City. He is a Yankees fan who has also lost hope in rooting for the Nets and Jets. Now living in Arizona, Chris enjoys slowly improving his golf game through year-round play and combines his love for golf and math while working at PING.
Jay Thomas
Jay M. Thomas is a Law student at Georgetown specializing in sports and entertainment. He obtained his bachelors degree in political science from the university of Tampa. Sports, politics and general hedonism are his major area of expertise and he’s excited to bring a little bit of all three to the OFD writers room.
